Birthday Week, Mocktails & Two Very Different Dining Adventures

Image
Boy, have I been BUSY this month! We’re officially gearing up for Joe’s birthday, which means the birthday celebrations are in full swing. And honestly? Birthday week is already off to a pretty fantastic start. We spent the weekend in Lewes, Delaware , with my aunt, and had an absolute blast. We toured a lighthouse, walked along the beach, ate some seriously amazing ice cream from Hopkins Creamery, and, most importantly, we found MOCKTAILSSSS! 🙌 Because obviously, no Sober Party Girl adventure is complete without tracking down the local mocktail situation. Breakfast & Mocktails at Egg in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware 🥚🍹 One of our stops was Egg in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, which offered a surprisingly lovely mocktail menu. And yes, the restaurant is actually called Egg. Hilarious. Delicious. Very egg-cellent. 🥚😂 ba-dum-tsk! We ate our food so quickly that I completely forgot to take pictures. But honestly, you know the food was good when my only thought was “eat first, think...

A Wildwood Boardwalk Adventure: Cheesesteaks, Nachos & Mocktails!

This week, we had ourselves a Wildwood, New Jersey adventure! 🌊🎢 We took a nice stroll down the famous Wildwood Boardwalk, checking out all the new stores, food vendors, and the usual assortment of boardwalk chaos. There is seriously SO much to see and do in Wildwood that you could easily spend the entire day, and night, exploring. And, of course, we had to eat our way through it. Chocolate-Covered Bananas & Saltwater Taffy Our first stop was a shop by Morey’s Pier for one of my favorite boardwalk treats: chocolate-covered bananas! 🍌🍫 They used to call these “Monkey Tails,” but that sign seems to have disappeared. The bananas, however, are still going strong, and they still have all the fun topping options. You can get your chocolate-covered banana rolled in things like: 🌈 Rainbow sprinkles 🍫 Chocolate jimmies 🥜 Peanut butter 🍪 Cookie crumbles Basically, if you like chocolate and bananas, you're going to have a good time. After that, we wandered into Douglass Fudge fo...

How is it the end of July already?! Time flies when you're working every day. LOL! An Unexpected Mocktail at Harpoons on the Bay in North Cape May Speaking of work, I found myself spending last Saturday working from what felt like an island oasis. WMGM was hanging out at Harpoons on the Bay in North Cape May , and wow...this place is awesome. The property has a little bit of everything: a building for the restrooms, a garage that's been turned into a bar, an outdoor bar, and a more traditional restaurant that connects to a huge deck linking everything together. Add in a sandy beach area to relax, and it feels like you've escaped somewhere tropical without leaving South Jersey. I didn't have time to eat, but I did have time for a mocktail. The bartender happily offered to make me whatever I wanted, so naturally I told him to surprise me with whatever he thought was good. A few minutes later, he handed me a gorgeous Blueberry Mojito made with fresh blueberries, mint, and...
