A Busy South Jersey Week: Zaytouna, Electric Donuts, & a 10/10 Lunch at LaScala’s

There are just some weeks when you absolutely cannot catch your breath. Between the Wildwood Boardwalk, the Philadelphia Eagles Public Practice, and bouncing all over South Jersey, I traveled a LOT this week, and somehow managed to find some pretty cool gems along the way. And, of course, I found a fantastic mocktail, too. Because priorities. đŸ˜‰ A New Favorite in Northfield: Zaytouna First, I have to give a shoutout to somewhere new, or at least somewhere that has quickly become a favorite. I have already gone back to Zaytouna in Northfield, New Jersey for lunch more times than I probably should admit. Zaytouna is a Mediterranean market with some seriously delicious lunch options, including shawarma that is apparently so good that I completely forgot to take pictures. Yep. I ate first and remembered the blog second. Honestly, sometimes you just have to have your priorities straight.  They also have three different flavors of baklava, and each one is flaky, sweet, and delicious. Hav...

Shirley Temples and Italian Cuisine: Falling in Love with Carmella's in Mays Landing, NJ

If you've been following along lately, you know I've been on a mission to uncover the best mocktails and dining experiences around South Jersey. Unfortunately, this week started with a serious mocktail drought. While working an event at Ducktown Tavern in Atlantic City, I thought I could sneak away long enough to grab a fun alcohol-free drink. Maybe we'll circle back another time and see what else they have to offer. Summer in South Jersey Means One Thing... It's officially summer at the Jersey Shore. The locals are juggling packed work schedules, bumper-to-bumper traffic, and yes... the arrival of the shoobies. Meanwhile, I spent most of the week glued to one...

Image
As predicted, the snowstorm officially canceled our big, glamorous plans of parties, shows, five-star dining, and obviously walking out of the casino as millionaires. (A girl can dream, right?) Well we didn’t become millionaires, but we did find the perfect snow day vibe. After being snowed in for a few days, we needed to get out of the house. Not for an over-the-top hootenanny… just somewhere with good energy, good food, and zero pressure. Sometimes, like a wave, you just wanna catch a vibe. So we headed to Hangtime Bar and Grille on the White Horse Pike in Absecon for Happy Hour and DJ Bingo. And honestly? It was exactly what we needed. The Vibe When you walk into Hangtime, it almost feels like two different spots in one. On one side: the lively, loud bar area. On the other: a quieter restaurant space that’s perfect if you’re not feeling the chaos. Since it was Happy Hour, we grabbed seats at the bar. It wasn’t packed yet, but word on the street is that by 7 p.m., DJ Bingo b...
