Beating the South Jersey Heat with Mocktails at Maplewood Inn in Hammonton

Image
Guyssssss... it's HOT. Like, "walk outside and immediately regret your life choices" hot. The "feels like" temperatures climbed well over 105 degrees across South Jersey, and wow...we definitely felt every single degree of it. Thankfully, I spent a good portion of the week hiding inside with the air conditioning blasting. If there's one thing we all need during a South Jersey heat wave, it's hydration. Mostly water...but I firmly believe a refreshing mocktail deserves a spot in the rotation too. A Hot Day in Wildwood with WMGM Earlier this week, I got to spend the day hanging out with 103.7 WMGM and Corona at The Inlet on Olde in Wildwood. Ironically, as a Corona girl this summer (yes, I hear the jokes), I get to travel up and down the Jersey Shore every Saturday giving away prizes, coolers, swag, and even cash. It's an absolute blast...but it is BUSY. Between talking with listeners, walking the venue, and handing out prizes, I barely have time to e...

Mocktails and the Famous Red Roast Beef: Why Everyone Is Talking About Columbia II Restaurant

Image
When I first met my husband, I quickly learned that his family history was tied to something pretty iconic in Hammonton. The original Columbia restaurant. His father was the mastermind behind the town-famous Red Roast Beef sandwich , and people would pack the dining room just to get their hands on one. Most days, the sandwiches sold out before closing. Friends from Hammonton still talk about those days with big smiles and even bigger appetites, remembering how they would devour two or three sandwiches at a time because they simply couldn’t get enough. Sadly, Joe’s father passed away before I ever had the chance to taste that legendary secret recipe myself. But recently, something exciting happened. The Columbia II , still proudly family-owned and operated, decided it was finally time to bring the famous Red Roast Beef back. And let me tell you, this is big news in Hammonton. Shout out to Donna, Shelia, and the rest of the family for serving up amazing food and smiles for so long. ...

St. Patrick’s Day Chaos in Hammonton: A Night at Snouts and Stouts Brewing (Mocktails, Dogs, and Pizza)

St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in South Jersey seem to start on March 1st and never really end. This year, we headed to Hammonton with friends to experience the chaos of the St. Patrick’s Day bar crawl colliding with Restaurant Week. Silly us, we thought we could just walk into a restaurant. Everywhere was booked. Everywhere was packed. Everywhere was loud. After lots of wandering, debating, and accepting defeat, we stumbled into Snouts and Stouts Brewing ; a brewery that promises a unique experience. They weren’t kidding. A Dog-Friendly Brewery… Emphasis on the Dogs The place was lively the moment we walked in. Humans were hooting and hollering, and dogs were barking. Yes, this brewery is proudly dog-friendly. Our furry friends are more than welcome here, which means you’ll be sharing your night out with pups of all shapes and sizes. Who wouldn’t love the smell of a million dogs while sipping handcrafted beverages? But once you get past the initial sensory overload, the place is genui...
