South Jersey's Sober Party Girl

It is finally starting to feel like spring in South Jersey! Well… sort of. This past week gave us a little bit of everything—winter chills, spring sunshine, summer warmth, and fall breezes. But I’ll gladly take a couple of perfect days over none at all. Earlier in the week, I took advantage of one of those beautiful days and walked to the boardwalk for my first slice of pizza of the year , a true sign that warmer weather is on the way. While I was there, I scooped up my 50% off Castaway Cove tickets and go-kart passes, because planning ahead for summer fun is basically a sport in South Jersey. Atlantic City has always held a special place in my heart. From visiting my dad while he worked at the old Sands Casino, to touching starfish at the tiny Atlantic City Aquarium , to countless walks along the boardwalk and beach collecting shells, I’ve spent most of my life in this loud, messy, chaotic city. And honestly? I love it. But I’ll also be real with you, unless you’re a local, Atlantic City isn’t always my top vacation recommendation. Not because it’s unsafe, okay maybe my favorite pizza shop has seen a shooting or two, (honestly, I personally think it’s generally fine), but because for a long time there simply wasn’t much to do beyond gambling, eating, and hoping a show you liked happened to be in town.
