The memories I have at Absecon’s Hi Point Pub are some that I will cherish. I’m talking about the buffalo chicken wrap of my dreams (yes, I still think about it regularly) and the legendary 21st birthdays that always seemed to end with a Shirley Temple and a bacon, egg & cheese. The vibes? Chaotic. The memories? Iconic. But as the news headlines rolled in over the years, serious accidents, drunk drivers plowing into lawns, you could feel the era slipping away. Atlantic City gets mixed reviews, but I’ve always thought it’s truly a playground for grown-ups. World-class restaurants, an eclectic boardwalk full of the usual souvenirs plus things you can’t find anywhere else, and nonstop entertainment. The tricky part? If you’ve ever driven down Somers Point–Mays Landing Road, you know it’s lined with local legends like Sugar Hill Subs, The Inn at Sugar Hill, and now… a brand-new name ready to earn its spot on that list. After months of “coming soon” signs and pushed-back opening dates, Landing Point Tavern finally flipped on their lights. And yes, it was absolutely worth the wait.
