Mocktails, Golf & Glow-in-the-Dark Pizza: A Florida Getaway

I’m sorry I ghosted you last week with zero warning πŸ˜…

South Jersey was gearing up for an ice storm, so we did what any responsible (and slightly dramatic) person would do… we ran away to Florida. Specifically: Cape Coral.

Was it warm? Not really.
Was it still better than freezing rain? Absolutely.

And honestly? The trip was legendary. We met Bangkok the spider monkey, hit the Naples Zoo, took a quick boat ride to Cabbage Key, and yes… we ate THE cheeseburger that inspired Cheeseburger in Paradise. Jimmy Buffett would be proud. AND we were able to add our names to a $1 bill and tape it in the Dollar Bill Bar. Praying it stays there for years πŸ™‚

But of course, you know what I was most excited about: mocktails.

I found two spots in the Fort Myers area that deserve a full standing ovation. If you ever find yourself in that part of Florida, consider this your sober party girl itinerary.

Stop #1: Topgolf Fort Myers (AKA: Golf… But Make It Mocktail-Friendly)

Topgolf is one of those places that somehow works for everyone—families, couples, friend groups, and even people like me… who are aggressively bad at golf.

Joe was living his best life hitting golf balls and racking up points.
I was living my best life sitting under a heater, snacking, and scanning the menu like a woman on a mission.

And the first thing I noticed?

MOCKTAILS.

Suddenly… golf didn’t seem so terrible.

What I ordered:

The Blueberry Sparkler
Think: blueberry mojito vibes. Lots of mint, lots of lime, bubbly, refreshing, and honestly just cute. It came with fresh blueberries floating in the drink AND on top, which felt fancy in a way I wasn’t expecting at Topgolf.

Not in the mood for that one? No problem. They have a couple mocktails listed, plus a “make your own” drink section that feels basically endless. You can create a mocktail, a dirty soda, or even add popping boba to whatever you’re feeling.

(And yes… I was tempted.)

The Snack Situation: The Funday Platter

I wasn’t super hungry, just snackish. So naturally, I ordered something that arrived looking like it could feed a small sports team.

The Funday Platter is basically a trash can lid-sized sampler loaded with:

  • chicken sliders

  • cheesy mac bites

  • pretzel bites

  • chips + queso

  • salsa

  • pickles

And listen… every single thing was good.

The sliders were the perfect size and didn’t come drowning in ranch (thank GOD).

The mac bites were gooey and cheesy in the best way.

The pretzel bites were soft little pillows, and the queso was spicy, cheesy perfection.

Chips are chips, but chips + queso is always a win.

Joe had a blast golfing. I had a blast eating and sipping. Everyone wins.

⭐ Final Sober Party Girl Score: 10/10

Great mocktail options, tons of customization, and games that keep you entertained while you drink whatever makes you happy.

Florida Intermission: Trains, Pools, and Markets

After Topgolf, we squeezed in a few more Florida moments like a Murder Mystery Dinner Train, some pool time, and wandering local farmers markets.

And then… Right before we left, we made one last stop.

And this one?

This one changed my life.

Stop #2: Nice Guy Pizza (AKA: The Neon-Lit Mocktail Wonderland of My Dreams)

Nice Guy Pizza is… how do I explain this?

It’s a blacklight bar.
A pizza place.
A pinball hall.
A concert venue.
And possibly heaven.

If you like odd, strange, and unusual (hi, it’s me), you’ll feel immediately at home. The whole place is covered in stickers, posters, merch, art, and chaos in the best way.

The bar was packed when we walked in, but there were plenty of tables open.

Also: the menu is split into two sides: one vegan, one omnivore.

For those who don’t know, I was vegan for almost three years, and I’m definitely planning to attempt that life again.

But that night?

I did not choose peace.
I chose pizza.

The Mocktail Menu: A FULL PAGE (AND THEN SOME)

When I say they have mocktails… I mean they have a whole mocktail menu. Like an actual dedicated section that made me do a double take.

And they don’t just serve “juice with a splash of Sprite.”

They carry nonalcoholic spirits and can basically make you whatever you want.

I ordered:

  • a Horchata Agua Fresca

  • the Italian Christmas Cookie mocktail (aka: Snow Miser)

The horchata was solid—exactly what you want. Simple, creamy, cinnamon-y, comforting.

But the cookie mocktail?

Oh. My. God.

The “Snow Miser” Cookie Mocktail

I’m pretty sure I heard angels singing.

It came in the most adorable petite glass, rimmed with icing and rainbow sprinkles. It was made with:

  • Sugar cookie nonalcoholic vodka

  • Almond bread

  • Nonalcoholic absinthe (for that anise flavor)

It tasted like Christmas magic. Like a dessert. Like a cookie in liquid form.

I will be thinking about it for the rest of my life. I’m not exaggerating.

The Pizza: Unhinged in the Best Way

Nice Guy Pizza is known for wild pizza options.

They have things like:

  • Big Mick (yes, it’s basically a Big Mac pizza)

  • Chicken and Waffles Pizza (exactly what it sounds like)

We went for:

  • Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza

  • Street Corn Pizza

And let me tell you…  this wasn’t just “fun pizza.”

This was a flavor journey.

South Jersey has incredible pizza, obviously. And Tony Baloney’s is probably the closest we get to wacky, creative pizza.

But Nice Guy?

Nice Guy is on another planet.

The crust was soft but crunchy, and the toppings and sauces did ALL the heavy lifting. I can’t even fully describe the experience my taste buds went through.

You just have to try it.

⭐ Final Sober Party Girl Score: 1,000,000/10

Nice Guy Pizza, we love you. Forever. <3

And Then… Back to Reality

All good things must come to an end.

The next morning, I ate my last slice of pizza for breakfast (as one should), and we headed back home to Atlantic City.

The flight was full, on time, and painfully responsible.

Back to reality. Back to hometown mocktails.

But Florida?
You were weird, delicious, and full of mocktail magic.

Until next time,
The Sober Party Girl 🍹✨
